The tragic death of Carles Falcon follows a serious accident during the second stage of the Dakar rally, which occurred just 15 kilometers from the finish line.
After losing his pulse, Falcon was airlifted to a hospital in Riyadh, where he entered an induced coma due to the severity of his injuries.
Despite concerted efforts, irreversible neurological damage resulting from the accident led to his unfortunate death, as confirmed by his team TwinTrail Racing.
The severity of Falcon’s injuries included brain edema which prevented urgent surgery on the C2 vertebra.
