When asked if she no longer had contact with her foster parents, she said, “Well, the transition started around the second year.”

After being brutally attacked in my accommodation by some of my roommates, I called my mother and told her I had to go home.

She also told me that I had made a choice and now I had to face the consequences of my decision to be gay or transgender. I replied that I didn’t understand because I had been sexually abused as a child.

I approached her and asked, “What about the several years I was abused as a child by one of our family members?” Was that a decision you made? “What?” she exclaimed before hanging up.

Furthermore, she knew that her call was a sign that her mother was leaving her life.
